Wow, it’s already soon going to be the Winter season. It seems like the Fall season went by so fast. Anyways, personally for me, there aren’t very many shows that I’m jumping off my seat for or truly anticipating. I guess it’ll be a good time to keep up with the Fall shows and backlogging then. :D There aren’t lots for Winter like usual, but a few I just want to check out. I’m a little depressed about it though, I have more free time in the Winter to blog, but there’s less shows to blog. >_<
Usually I wait for the V2 charts, but I guess I’ll just update this post when the V2 chart does come out.
Note: no final Fall impressions since Fall isn’t entirely over yet.
Here’s the chart:

Winter 2009/2010
These are shows that caught some sort of interest. But blegh, none of them I’m really excited for. I might be following others not listed, or drop the ones listed, I don’t know yet. The list will change as a new chart is released as well. Most of the information is from MyAnimeList and/or the chart (credit: chartfag). So here are the shows~
Durarara!

The story takes place in a downtown of Tokyo, Ikebukuro. Teenage punks gang up and fight against each other. The gangsters are afraid of an urban legend “Dullahan” headless rider, who rides a black motorcycle without head lights nor sounds of engine. Ryuugamine Mikado is a normal high school boy who seeks peculiar beings. When He moves in to Ikebukuro, a mad scramble for Dullahan’s missing head breaks out. -MAL
I don’t know what it is about the show, maybe the title, maybe the characters, that makes me interested. Usually it isn’t exactly my kind of show, but I watched the trailer and it looked pretty action-filled and decent. Plus, I see that it is categorized as romance as well? I don’t see any hints in the trailers, but maybe there’s some possibility~

After millennia in hiding, Mina Tepes, the Princess of the ancient covenant and ruler of all vampires, wants change. Using the vast wealth of the Tepes line, she has paid off the entire gross national debt of Japan and in so doing, gained the authority to create a “special district” off the coast of Japan that is to become the future haven to vampires the world over!
Now, on the eve of the landmark press conference announcing the existence of vampires to the world, terrorists and rival factions are plotting to assassinate Mina Tepes before she has a chance to make her world-changing announcement. (Seven Seas) -MAL
Vampires…-_____-”" I feel like I’ve had enough of them, especially from the New Moon movie being released and so on. It looks like a cliche’d vampire thing to be honest. The cliche’d stereotype of vampires is pretty evident as well--from the neckbiting, to the red eyes. And the girl likes being nekkid. O.o Not my kind of thing I’d be interested in. So why is this on my list? For one, it’s SHAFT, so I guess I could try it out. But mainly, for the lulz. It looks like something I can point and laugh at.
Watching: Checking out for the lulz

The story takes place in an imaginary town Seize (the model cities are Cuenca and Alarcón Fortress in Spain). A long war brings a gradual decline to the world. People disappear from the town and fishes cease to exist in the sea. In this quiet world, five girls guard a fortress and play brass vividly. -MAL
Like I’ve already said, it looks just like K-On! + military. -.-” I’m pretty interested in it though. It seems…unique and pretty interesting. I mean, I don’t know how they’re going to be able to mix music and military in together, so I’m looking forward to seeing the results and how that turns out. Of course, I really hope it’s not like, “You die from my terrible singing!” or something of the sort. *shot*
Watching: Yeah, going to check it out~

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu
Airdate: 1/?/10
Episode: ?
Website: [ Official Website | MAL | Melative ]
Trailer: Show ▼
The story centers around Akihisa Yoshii, the “baka” of the title. His academy rigidly divides up the student body into classes based on the results of tests. The prodigies are in the A class with reclining seats complete with air conditioning, but Akihisa is in F class, the lowest rung of the school ladder which is furnished only with low, decrepit tables and worn-out straw tatami mats. A girl named Mizuki Himeji is actually one of the smartest girls in Akihisa’s sophomore year, but she had a fever on test day and was pigeonholed into the F class. Besides Mizuki (who Akihisa secretly adores), the F class also has Y?ji Sakamoto, the class president who has been Akihisa’s friend and partner-in-crime since the freshman year.
The school happens to have developed experiments to summon fantasy creatures, and Akihisa decides to rally F class to take on the higher-tiered classes and seize their perks. The F class uses the summoned creatures in an all-out battle for school supremacy. -MAL
Hmm, it looks like a nice, light-hearted series. And for that, I’m interested. It doesn’t look bad, so I’ll just check it out. Looks a bit odd and weird, but it doesn’t hurt to see it.

The story follows Hiroshi Kuzumi, a 16-year-old boy who has just moved to the seemingly serene village of Jogamachi. Nestled in the mountains far away from the city, the village is divided by a river that separates old Jogamachi from new Jogamachi. Young Hiroshi soon discovers that the village’s ancient as well as mysterious traditions and customs have been kept alive over the ages. Although a bit bewildered by the new environment, Hiroshi begins to settle into his new life. While he has never been the type to win any popularity contests, he quickly earns the affection of his classmates. That is with the exception of aloof class president, Nemuru Kushinada, whose only words to Hiroshi are a warning to stay away from old part of town. It is there that terror and mystery await him. -MAL
Uwahh, it sounds so good~! This is probably my most anticipated show of the season. Mainly because of the creator Ryukishi07 (Higurashi, Umineko…) and the character designers Peach-Pit (Shugo Chara, Zombie Loan…). When you combine awesome character designers with an awesome creator, it makes me have high hopes. The only problem I have is being disappointed. So I won’t expect it to be amazing too much, but I want to~
Watching: Oh yes~
Blogging: Not really sure yet. Don’t think so though.
Other Blurbs
I was planning on adding Katanagatari, since it looked, different. xD But the episodes are an hour long, and the plot doesn’t capture much of my interest. -.-”
Qwaser of Stigmata looked so good~ Until I saw the trailer and the genre. =_=” The sad part is, it probably has the potential to be a good series, if only they omitted the ecchi. I mean, it seems so serious and cool, and the panty shots…sort of kill it.
Sigh. There are very little shows this season. But I’ll just happily catch up on my manga and anime this season then. Plus, I want to focus on other stuff. :D So I guess that’s about it. The shows listed above were just some that caught some sort of interest.

Oh nice, this is really close to what I’ll probably pickup. Durarara!! will likely be one of the top series imo considering the author, but who knows. Also, haha, loli vampire… yea…
[Reply]
lol @ Baka Test. I think the pink-haired girl looks like Louise from Zero no Tsukaima de-tsundered. xD
animehalf´s last blog ..11eyes 06 – No! It’s a Marysuezu Spotlight!
I’d say the only series I’m really actually interested in is Ookami Kakushi. Vampire Bund and Qwaser sounded interesting until I saw the trailers. lol, but that’s just IMO.

Seikon no Quaser probably has more boob sucking than panty shots.
Katanagatari episodes are an hour long…? oAo
Kiseki´s last blog ..Nakayoshi + Ribon 2009 #12 (sc! = butt touching)

Ryan A: Ooh, that’s cool.
Oh right, Baccano!, right? But yeah, Durarara! looks like it’ll be one of the better ones of the season.
animehalf: Omg, your right! She does!
Ahh, same here. :]
Kiseki: Oh…right. Somehow I managed to ignore that. I just happened to see lots of panty shots in the trailer. >_> Nonetheless, it’s just…wrong. O.o
Yup, I guess they’ve give longer episodes considering it’s broadcasting schedule?
